Kolokytha Beach

Twelve kilometers north of Agios Nikolaos and near the Peninsula of Spinalonga lies a small island named Kolokytha. Opposite of the island there is Kolokytha Beach. Given its small size and fairly secluded nature, Kolokytha Beach offers little when it comes to amenities so visitors should make sure to arrive well prepared. It boasts clear rich turquoise waters and fine white sand on its shore while the tamarisk trees offers some nice shady spots. Surrounded by lush greenery and offering a more intimate experience away from the fuss of bigger beaches, this hidden Cretan gem is a must-visit for anyone traveling to the island for the first time.
