Pigros Beach

Pigros Beach is a small, peaceful cove located on the southern coast of Rethymno, near the villages of Agia Fotini and Kerames. Tucked between rocky cliffs and wild terrain, it offers a secluded escape away from the more popular beaches in the area.

The beach has a mix of coarse sand and pebbles, with crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Due to its remote location, there are no organized facilities, so visitors should come prepared with their own water, snacks, and shade. The surrounding area is largely untouched, giving the beach a wild, natural charm.

Access to Pigros is typically via a rough dirt track, which makes it best suited for adventurous travelers or those with 4x4 vehicles. Its name, meaning “wild” or “remote,” reflects the isolated nature of the beach. Pigros is perfect for those seeking solitude, a connection to raw nature, and a break from the crowds of more developed coastal spots.
