Psiloritis Mountain

Psiloritis, also known as Idi, is the highest mountain in Crete, with its highest point reaching 2,456 metres. It is one of the most important natural monuments of the island and a destination that enchants visitors with its wild beauty. According to Greek mythology, Psiloritis was the mountain where Zeus was born. Even today, many believe that treasures and secrets are hidden in its caves. It is home to a rich variety of plants and animals, many of which are endemic. The most famous is the Idaion Andro, which according to legend was the cave where Zeus was raised.
