The Late Minoan Cemetery of Armeni is located approximately 8 kilometers south of Rethymno, near the village of Armeni, in a forested area abundant with oak trees. Excavations, initiated in 1969 under the direction of Dr. Yiannis Tzedakis, have uncovered over 230 tombs, making it one of the largest Minoan burial sites discovered.
